Grêmio are negotiating to sign midfielder Guido Rodríguez, who is at West Ham, but face resistance from his camp and the player over a return to South American football.

According to Capology, he earns 3.9 million pounds a season, about R$ 28.2 million. That equates to roughly 325,000 pounds a month, around R$ 2.35 million.

A 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina, he prioritises staying in Europe with the next World Cup in mind.

Lacking opportunities in the Premier League, he would consider Grêmio if no offers arrive from Europe before 2 February. The club do not intend to wait until that deadline.

With the Campeonato Brasileiro approaching, Grêmio aim to conclude talks in the coming days. If his stance remains unchanged, they are ready to end negotiations and look for a similar profile on the market.
