Grêmio were beaten 3-2 by Botafogo at Nilton Santos in a rescheduled round-21 Brasileirão match. According to Globo.com’s ratings, Caio Paulista was the poorest performer.
Gustavo Martins led the way with 7.0, heading in from a Tetê cross and imposing himself aerially late on. Tetê was given 6.0 for the assist.
Jovane Cabral scored from a free-kick and earned 6.5 despite an uneven display. Braithwaite took 5.5 after starting the move for Grêmio’s second but lacked movement. Carlos Vinícius received 5.0 with few chances to finish.
Caio Paulista was rated 3.5 after struggling in attack and defence. Enamorado’s 4.0 reflected the space he allowed before Botafogo’s third. Matheus Nascimento’s 4.5 came after a quiet game and a late flashpoint.
In midfield, Noriega got 4.5, often late and unable to link play. Villasanti, used on the left, was subdued and received 5.0. Krovinovic, more central, managed 5.5 then faded after the interval.
At the back, Wallace was 5.5 after some risky build-up without damage, and Diego Caito 5.0, diligent but blunt going forward. Weverton’s 5.0 reflected key saves but he might have stopped the third. Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was given 5.0.
