Groningen dismantled ADO Den Haag 4-1 on Sunday in Den Haag to make it two wins from two and climb from ninth to second in the Eredivisie.

In the 15th minute, Thom van Bergen finished left-footed from the centre of the box to set the tone.

Brynjolfur Willumsson doubled the lead after VAR confirmed his strike, converting from goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen's pass (30.).

On the stroke of half time, David van der Werff swept into the top right in the second minute of first half stoppage time from Tygo Land's break.

After the restart, ADO Den Haag's double change paid off when Yannick Eduardo tucked in from Finn de Bruin's through ball (55.).

Substitute Nils Eggens restored the cushion with a glancing header from van Bergen's cross (81.).
