Hundreds of Lyon supporters missed the start of Lyon v Rennes after the Groupama Stadium ticket app failed. According to Le Progres, the malfunction left large numbers stuck at the gates.

Kick-off was at 20:45 on Saturday 19 September 2026 at Groupama Stadium, but many seats were empty as the match began. Since 6 September the app has been the only authorised way to present tickets, and it was not working.

The breakdown caused long queues and angry scenes, with fans still outside minutes before kick-off. Some access points were shut, including Gate M.

The night worsened when play was halted after 36 minutes. A banner insulting AS Saint-Etienne, along with similar chants, prompted a 15-minute suspension.

The game eventually resumed and Lyon won 4-0. Home supporters at least had the goals to soften a frustrating evening.
