Pep Guardiola confirmed another Manchester City injury blow after their 1-1 draw with Brighton, with Savinho expected to be out for at least six weeks.
Erling Haaland had given City the lead from the penalty spot against Brighton but Kaoru Mitoma’s equaliser ensured Guardiola’s side have now drawn three straight league games.
Savinho again missed out after being forced off against Sunderland at the start of the month and asked how long he is likely to be out for, Guardiola said: “Long.
“I don’t know. A month and a half, two months. He will be back.”
On whether he could sign another forward in the transfer window, Guardiola then responded: “I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the transfer window.”
The City boss says he has been pleased with his side’s overall performances but highlighted a lack of goals as a big cause for concern, and admits they cannot think about winning the title unless they start scoring more.
“Of course if we don’t win games we cannot think about those things (the title),” he said.
“We had an incredible result at Nottingham Forest, a tough game, and after we play three games really good.
“Many good things but we don’t score goals. It’s not just one or two players, it’s all the people up front and unfortunately we could not score. Scoring goals is part of doing your job.
“It’s not just one player, it’s everyone, and that’s the reason why we cannot win the games.
