Pep Guardiola praised the performance of Bernardo Silva as the Manchester City captain inspired the side's comeback win at Liverpool.
Silva scored a late equaliser at Anfield, as City came from behind to claim a 2-1 win. The Portugal international's goal set the stage for a dramatic late win, with Erling Haaland scoring the decisive second from the spot in stoppage time.
City impressed in the first half but were unable to find a breakthrough, before suffering a setback when Dominik Szoboszlai blastedLiverpool ahead from a free-kick.
Guardiola hailed the character of his team to recover, with the result cutting Arsenal's lead at the top of thePremier League to six points. He singled out Silva, whose City contract expires in the summer, for instilling belief in the Blues.
"I am really proud we won. The first half was incredible," Guardiola said toSky Sports.
"Liverpool had the momentum [in the second half], and after Szoboszlai's free-kick, a copy paste of the one against Arsenal, what a strike. What a player.
"At the end, belief from our captain; his character, personality, not giving up. In the end, we came back.
"We played well first half but we didn't produce what we should have. We had to be a little bit more composed. Defensively we were so brilliant. The pace of Ekitike, Mo [Salah] and Gakpo. The second half we expected that."
On whether he feelsManchester City's young side can now overhaul Arsenal in the title race, Guardiola added that anything can happen across the run-in.
"They have a bright future and the club has a bright future. Really good signings. When everyone is settled, we will continue to be there.
"Despite what has happened today, we have many good things to fight for. We are six points behind, okay it is a big gap, but many things can happen."
