After leaving Chivas, veteran forward Oribe Peralta has been trying to keep his football career alive, a mission that seems increasingly complicated due to his age, his latest performanances, and his high financial demands.
He’s been rumoured to be heading to Guatemala to join Antigua but his salary is much more than what the Guatemalan team can afford.
The 37-year-old Peralta is attempting to maintain a salary like the one he had at Chivas, which was $2.4m a year.
So far it does not sound like reinforcement for another Liga MX club, since his return to Santos Laguna to retire is not possible.
Major League Soccer seems like a rather complicated option as it doesn’t appear any team is willing to match his salary requirements.
