Guéla Doué and Diego Moreira set to depart Strasbourg amid project shift | OneFootball

There will be some big-name departures from RC Strasbourg Alsace this summer. The departure of club captain Emanuel Emegha was confirmed back in September, and since the end of the season, Valentin Barco has also confirmed that he will be leaving the Alsace club. Like Emegha, he is expected to join fellow BlueCo-owned side, Chelsea. 

As per a report from L’Équipe, there could be further departures, and not simply in the form of Chelsea loanees and fringe players. The publication cites three key players that could be on their way out of the Meinau: Diego Moreira, Guéla Doué, and Ismael Doukouré. 

It is expected that Chelsea will once again loan players to Strasbourg this summer, with Gary O’Neil requesting more physical profiles this time around.

And beyond the individuals, there could be a more discernible shift at the Ligue 1 club. Ben Chilwell arrived at the club last season and his influence in the dressing room has been appreciated. It means that, going forward, Strasbourg won’t exclusively sign young players, as had been the policy up to this point.
