Guido notes Valencia’s first three project signings amid stalled talks

Valencia remain intent on securing Guido Rodríguez as the midfield anchor for 26/27, but talks have stalled for three months. According to Superdeporte, CEO of Football Ron Gourlay and head coach Carlos Corberán see the Argentine as ideal to lead midfield, citing his leadership, experience and familiarity with the dressing room and LaLiga. The club have not given up hope of retaining him.

Guido continues to value Valencia’s offer, yet he has taken stock of the club’s first three project signings. He prioritises the sporting plan over finances and, so far, that policy does not match the Europe aim outlined to him in April. With no deadline to reply, he is weighing other proposals before deciding.

Planning for 26/27 has opened with three interesting moves in Justin de Haas, Aliou Dieng and Ryunosuke Sato, none of whom have featured in major leagues. Sato is very close, pending signature and an official announcement.

With those early moves lined up, the next step is to add proven players to balance the squad and address gaps. Bringing in goals, solving right-back and, above all, securing Guido’s continuity are now key.

Last summer’s missteps at pivot and centre-forward affected the first half of the season. Valencia cannot afford a repeat, particularly if Europe remains the target.
