Guido Rodríguez is spending the close-season in Argentina with family and friends, yet his next move remains unresolved. The 2022 world champion is assessing proposals for next season.

According to Superdeporte, there are firm LaLiga offers from Valencia CF and Villarreal CF. Valencia’s package is richer, Villarreal offer Champions League football with a likely reduced role, and Brazilian reports say he has been offered to Flamengo.

Marcos Acuña hosted an asado that Rodríguez attended with Sevilla FC defender Federico Gattoni, sharing the image on social media. Both Rodríguez, a River Plate academy graduate, and Gattoni have uncertain futures.

Real Betis have monitored Rodríguez as they plan midfield changes. Mexican interest persists after a strong January bid, and other South American clubs have contacted his camp.

Valencia see him as central to their plans and await his decision, with other pivot options on hold. His second-half influence has convinced head coach Carlos Corberán.

Acuña, now at River Plate, and Rodríguez share the disappointment of missing out on the 2026 World Cup. Chasing that aim, Rodríguez left West Ham United in winter after barely featuring, to join Mestalla.

Gattoni, 27, returned to Sevilla FC in January after a loan at River Plate, has played only nine minutes and prefers a return to Argentina.
