Guido reported for Valencia pre-season at Paterna after his signing was confirmed on Friday on a deal to 2028, with an optional extra year.

According to Superdeporte, the Argentine arrived this morning to work under Carlos Corberán, aiming to be in the best condition for the LaLiga opener against Real Betis at Mestalla.

He remains at Valencia thanks to the club’s renewed financial commitment and Corberán’s persistence. From a March planning meeting in Paterna with Kiat Lim and Gourlay, the coach underlined the need to secure the midfielder’s continuity, and the club pushed to make him the cornerstone of the 26/27 project.

Corberán was fixed on Guido, and the club had no plan B. They monitored other midfielders, but no alternative route was activated.

Gourlay and Corberán judged his profile ideal to lead the midfield next season, citing leadership, experience and knowledge of the dressing room and LaLiga. The coach stayed close to the player, stressing his reference role, while the club kept faith in striking an agreement and set out an ambitious, Europe-chasing project around him.

Other factors helped. Guido is settled in the city with his family and feels valued by the club, team-mates and supporters. Valencia continued to feature on his social channels during the summer.
