Guido Rodríguez given permission to attend Messi tribute in Argentina | OneFootball

Radio Marca Valencia reports that Valencia have allowed Guido Rodríguez to travel to Argentina during the international break to attend the national team’s tribute to Lionel Messi.

Argentina have planned an emotional day for Tuesday six October, facing Benin at the Monumental in what is billed as Messi’s final game for the national team before his home crowd.

Around the fixture, the AFA has scheduled several events under the slogan 'Gracias, Leo' to honour a career that has defined the last two decades for the Albiceleste.

Rodríguez’s presence reflects his role in a golden cycle with Argentina. He was part of the squads that won the Copa América in 2021, the 2022 Finalissima, the Qatar 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Copa América.

His trip is expected to be primarily institutional and emotional, and he will not play against Benin.

He is scheduled to return to Paterna midweek to rejoin training with Javier Aguirre and complete preparations for the meeting with Racing de Santander.
