Guillaume Paradis has asked the LFP disciplinary commission to cancel Dehmaine Tabibou’s red card and downgrade it to a booking. According to L'Équipe, the referee submitted a supplementary report to that effect on Monday.
Paradis had initially shown Tabibou a yellow, then, after a lengthy VAR review, upgraded it to red for denying an obvious goal-scoring chance in the 65th minute of Nantes-Brest, which finished 1-1 on Sunday.
The call angered coach Vahid Halilhodzic, who was sent off in the 69th minute and watched the equaliser in added time. Nantes, 17th and facing the threat of relegation to Ligue 2, played almost half an hour with 10 men.
On the incident, the Nantes forward tangled with Luck Zogbé, who had nudged the ball into the box towards goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. In his Monday addendum, having reviewed the footage, Paradis wrote that he was not fully certain Zogbé would have had clear control after his touch. He now says his original caution was the correct call.
The commission meets on Tuesday at 14:00. If the offence is reclassified as a caution, Tabibou could be involved at Paris-SG on Wednesday at Parc des Princes in a rearranged Ligue 1 fixture from the 26th round.
