‘Intense Interest’ From Tottenham Hotspur In Ligue 1 Attacker | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur have ‘intense interest’ in Monaco attacker Folarin Balogun and in recent hours have made their move as they line up a €60m swoop.

The north Londoners have spent handsomely this summer already, beefing up the engine room and the backline massively.

However, they are keen on replenishing their attack in the remainder of the window, as the club hierarchy are working to bring in strikers and wingers.

Brazilian forward Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Spurs and he may yet go before the window shuts.

Dominic Solanke is also linked with an exit, as fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest are keen, while there continue to be question marks about the future of French forward Mathys Tel.

Last month, Tottenham were linked with ex-Arsenal academy graduate Balogun, who has been a success story at Ligue 1 side Monaco.

Earlier this month, it was suggested that Paris Saint-Germain had moved to put themselves into position to sign him, but the French giants have moved on to other targets.

Spurs have an open goal now for the ex-Gunner, who has scored 31 times in 91 games for Les Rouge et Blanc since joining them back in 2023.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Tottenham hold ‘intense interest’ in the 25-year-old and are working on a swoop.

It has been suggested that Balogun could cost them around €60m, with groundwork being laid out for a bid from north London.

The 25-year-old USA international scored three goals in this year’s World Cup and could be tempted to return to the Premier League.

Balogun’s current deal runs for two more years at the Stade Louis II and while Monaco have not been keen to sell, the right price could well see the door opened in the principality.

All eyes will be on Tottenham to see whether they will make a solid offer for the ex-Arsenal man in the coming days to bring him over to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham kick off their season on 22nd August against Brentford, but have until the start of September to get a deal for Balogun done.
