Gulácsi ‘to join’ Villarreal if Leipzig sign replacement

Peter Gulácsi has reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with Villarreal, according to Sky Germany.

Any move would depend on RB Leipzig first recruiting a replacement.

Talks are understood to be under way with Norway international and free agent Ørjan Nyland. The 35-year-old spent most of 2022/23 with Leipzig.

Leipzig have decided to hand the starting role to the younger Maarten Vandevoordt next season.

Gulácsi, 36, has been with Die Roten Bullen for 11 years.
