Manchester City welcomed Coventry City at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Mancunian club made a nervy start to the game but managed to grab the lead in the 26th minute when Erling Haaland found the back of the net. Enzo Maresca’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Enzo Maresca’s men controlled the game well in the second 45 minutes and earned a narrow 1-0 win at the Etihad.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the clash against Coventry City.

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma – 7/10

Donnarumma had a nervy moment in the first half but recovered well and made a few solid saves at the back. He would be quite pleased with the clean sheet.

RB: Abdukodir Khusanov – 7/10

He did his fair share of defending but offered very little going forward.

CB: Ruben Dias – 7/10

Dias put his foot through the ball when he could and was strong in the air.

CB: Marc Guehi – 7.5/10

He cleared the danger when needed on the defensive end of the field and won a few important aerial duels for his team.

LB: Josko Gvardiol – 7/10

He didn’t put a foot wrong defensively and won a couple of aerial duels.

CM: Elliot Anderson – 7.5/10

Anderson anchored the midfield well and was lively on the ball.

CM: Enzo Fernandez – 6.5/10

He caught the eye at times on both halves but failed to threaten the Coventry goal.

RW: Antoine Semenyo – 7/10

Semenyo engineered a few decent chances for others around him but failed to register a goal.

CAM: Rayan Cherki – 7.5/10

He was a constant menace in the final third and did everything but score today.

LW: Iliman Ndiaye – 6.5/10

Ndiaye managed to shine at times on the left flank but never looked like he would score.

ST: Erling Haaland – 8/10

Haaland was a real handful for the Coventry defenders and scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute.

CAM: Phil Foden – 6/10

He wasted a great chance to score.

CM: Ayyoub Bouaddi – 6.5/10

Bouaddi made one good run with the ball after coming off the bench.
