Erling Haaland expressed his elation after his early goal propelled City to a 1-0 victory over Burnley, returning us to the top of the Premier League for the first time since 21 August.
Our talismanic forward coolly dinked in the winner after just five minutes, with the one goal seeing us move level on points and goal difference with Arsenal, but surpassing the Gunners on goals scored.
Rayan Cherki saw a strike superbly tipped onto the crossbar, before Haaland was denied a brace by the base of the post in the second-half.
Nico O’Reilly then spurned a golden chance deep into stoppage time as Burnley were relegated by the loss, but Haaland expressed his delight at picking up a vital three points as our title charge continues.
“Yeah we had a lot of chances but I’m happy, we won and that’s the most important thing,” began Haaland. “Anything else, don’t think [about it]. Just try to win.
“1-0 is amazing, I’m super happy. I’m super happy we won and we got three points. We’re top of the league so be happy.”

Pep Guardiola’s men had nine shots on target and nine shots off target, whilst striking the woodwork twice and earning 11 corners, with only one goal to show for our efforts.
However, Haaland was quick to reiterate that the most important thing is claiming the points, not scoring as many goals as possible.
“It’s all about winning, no matter how,” he continued. “We try to play our football and we just try to win, that’s what you need in your mindset. And now focus on Saturday.
“Don’t think about goals, think about winning.”
