Herbert Hainer says there will be no Marienplatz celebrations if Bayern win the DFB-Pokal on Saturday, 23 May.

Bayern face VfB Stuttgart in the final in Berlin, with kick-off at 20:00 CET.

Hainer said: “They won’t be coming back because the national team players will be joining their national teams two days later. They’ll go home on Sunday and rest for another day or two.” The comments were given to Bild.

If Bayern get over the line, it would be their first domestic double since the 2019-20 campaign, six years ago.

The recently crowned Bundesliga champions raised the Meisterschale at Marienplatz on Sunday, 17 May, celebrating their 35th title.
