Villarreal could bank a sizeable sum this summer thanks to Haissem Hassan, with the winger’s Egypt display against Argentina boosting his market profile.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Villarreal inserted a 40% sell-on in the deal that took Hassan to Real Oviedo, leaving them well placed if the Asturian club opts to cash in.

Oviedo previously turned down proposals worth close to six million euros for Hassan, preferring to wait for a bigger return and for the market to edge towards his 12 million euro release clause.

That outcome now looks more plausible, with the winger’s development and international exposure increasing interest around a player whose future carries major financial implications for Villarreal.

Hassan was among Egypt’s liveliest performers against Argentina, his pace, ball-carrying and ability to break lines troubling the Albiceleste defence throughout.

A sale near 12 million euros would be a standout deal for Oviedo, while Villarreal would profit indirectly from any significant transfer.

Villarreal allowed Hassan to leave before establishing himself in the first team, and with his stock rising the club are watching developments closely.
