Hakim Ziyech to sign for Botafogo until December 2028 | OneFootball

Hakim Ziyech, 33, will join Botafogo on a contract running to December 2028 after a season with Wydad Casablanca.

According to L'Équipe, the Morocco international has terminated his Wydad deal and is expected in Rio early in the week to complete the move.

Botafogo sit 13th in Brazil with 30 points from 24 matches and are seeking reinforcements. The Rio club are turning to the former Ajax playmaker, who starred in Amsterdam from 2016 to 2020.

Ziyech has 64 caps and 25 goals for Morocco and was a 2022 World Cup semi-finalist. Chelsea signed him for €40m in July 2020.

He played 16 matches and scored 9 goals for Wydad. After initially hesitating over the Brazilian challenge, he has now given the green light and will be presented to the media and supporters, disillusioned after a poor season.
