Barcelona head coach sent a crystal clear message the way of some of the headline members of his squad with his latest line-up selection on Saturday.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have a day on provided an insight into the situation.
Barca boss Flick of course sprung several surprises with his XI to face Levante yesterday evening.
To introduce Marcus Rashford to a starting role, the German shifted Raphinha inside to a no.10 berth.
As much meant that Dani Olmo was forced to watch on from the bench for the 2nd game in succession to start the season.
Elsewhere, Marc Casadó was also favoured to Gavi in the absence of Frenkie de Jong, whilst Eric García again beat out Jules Koundé to secure the start at right-back.
And though such choices did not exactly pay off for Flick, they have since been interpreted as an unwavering message to his players.
As per a report from Sport:
‘The German is sending a clear message to the squad: despite having achieved a treble, no one is safe from changing their role in the team.’
