Hansi Flick speaks on the Barcelona battle between Dani Olmo & Fermín López | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick was on Saturday drawn on the ongoing battle for a place in his XI between Dani Olmo and Fermín López.

This comes ahead of the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Getafe on Sunday.

The attacking midfield spot of course currently represents one of the most heavily contested in Barcelona’s squad.

As much comes with the Catalans boasting a pair of altogether different, but high-profile options.

First comes Fermín López, who has of late been afforded the edge, and just last weekend responded with a brace against Valencia.

Dani Olmo, on the other hand, represents a less direct but more technical option behind the striker.

Amid speculation that the latter is primed to return to starting duties against Getafe, Hansi Flick was today therefore drawn on the situation once more.

And Barca’s headmaster went on to explain:

“We always have to make decisions. We’ve just started the season and we need all the players. Some may not be entirely happy with their situation, but it’s not about individuals, it’s about the team. When they play, they have to show how good they are, but for me, the important thing is the team and the shared success.”
