Barcelona coach shuts down criticism after Levante win

Hansi Flick steps in to defend Lamine Yamal
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick defended Lamine Yamal after his reaction to being substituted during the 3-0 win over Levante.
Hansi Flick head coach of Barcelona pushed back against media criticism after being asked about Lamine Yamal’s reaction to being substituted.
Barcelona beat Levante 3-0 on Sunday, a result that sent the Catalan club back to the top of La Liga. The win came after Real Madrid lost away to Osasuna on Saturday.
After the match, Flick was asked about Yamal showing frustration when he was taken off. The German coach made it clear that he felt the situation was being exaggerated.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Flick said the media place too much focus on everything Yamal does. He explained that feeling upset after being substituted is normal for any competitive player.
Flick described the young winger’s reaction as human and natural stressing that there was no issue inside the squad.
The coach’s comments aimed to protect the teenager from unnecessary pressure as he continues to develop at the highest level.
Barcelona’s win over Levante restored their place at the top of the league table adding confidence at a key stage of the season.
