Haris Belkebla will miss Angers’ home game against Toulouse on Sunday at 17:15 in matchday 21 of Ligue 1 because of an ankle injury, and he should miss only this fixture.

According to L'Équipe, the Algeria midfielder and club captain sustained the problem in the 1-0 win over Metz last Sunday, taking the knock from Jean-Philippe Gbamin, who was sent off and given a two-match suspension.

Coach Alexandre Dujeux feared a worse outcome given the severity of the twist, but the 32-year-old even tried to be ready for the game.

Belkebla has 11 caps for Algeria.

With Angers 12 points clear of 16th-placed Nantes, Dujeux said in a press conference that motivation differs from player to player. Some look down the table to stay vigilant while others wonder if they can aim higher. He added that the team must keep doing things in the right order while protecting its unity.
