Toulouse aim to extend their steady Ligue 1 rise under new head coach Jens Berthel Askou, whose plan prioritises a more expansive style.
According to L'Équipe, they have finished 13th, 11th, 10th then ninth since promotion in 2022, and open by hosting Lyon on 22 August at 20:45.
The Dane, 43, succeeds Carles Martinez Novell, whose contract was not renewed. He wants to project a more enterprising side, helped by young arrivals such as Sion Oppong.
Oppong, 18, joined from Brommapojkarna for €3.5 million with no bonuses. The Sweden Under-21 international played 14 times last season, scoring two and providing one assist.
Right-footed but often stationed on the left, he likes to cut inside. He is also seen as able to play centrally, though he did not do so last term.
Jaydee Canvot moved to Crystal Palace for €23 million plus €3.5 million in add-ons and a 15 per cent sell-on last summer.
This summer Emersonn’s €32 million switch to Ipswich Town, including €4 million in bonuses, eclipsed Issa Diop’s €25 million move to West Ham in 2018. Further movement could follow regarding Dayann Methalie.
Work on the new performance centre, restarted in July 2025, is due to finish in November. The €18 million project converts a former university restaurant beside the training pitches and the Stadium on the Île du Ramier.
