Brighton & Hove Albion’s interim head coach Mikey Harris is hoping that his side can use the confidence from last weekend’s mauling of Bristol City to their advantage when they face Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup this evening.

The Seagulls take on The Red Devils at Broadfield Stadium as they aim to reach another Adobe Women’s FA Cup semi-final.

Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Bristol City 7-3 at Ashton Gate in their last match and interim head coach Harris hopes that the victory will give his players a huge amount of belief in being able to deliver against Manchester United.

“Belief comes from within and the fact that we had six different goalscorers [against Bristol City] is massive,” Harris said when speaking in the pre-match press conference. “I think we’ve got goals throughout the team, we showed that on Sunday and I’m really hopeful that now, we will kick on in that regard.

“You know we want to entertain, we want to play attacking football, we want to score goals and hopefully, we can do that and concede a few less at the same time.”

Brighton & Hove Albion were Adobe Women’s FA Cup semi-finalists last season and Harris believes that going even further this year would be an amazing experience.

He said “It would be a dream to be involved in an FA Cup final and we’re two wins away from that. We are aware of that as a group and we are really excited about the challenge that the game represents.

“If you can win this game, you’re one game away from a cup final at Wembley which would just be incredible.

“We will do everything we can to win the game and hopefully, we can go into a semi-final and try and make that dream a reality.”

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup quarter-final tie against Manchester United kicks-off at 5.15pm this evening. Tickets remain available and can be purchased by clicking here.
