Harry Kane has offered the clearest insight yet into his future, suggesting that his focus remains firmly in Munich rather than on any romantic return to North London. The England captain, who has been a revelation in the Bundesliga, has under two years left on his Bayern Munich deal and has now confirmed he is open to discussing an extension.

“I think MLS is too early for sure, the way I feel right now, the way I am playing right now,” he said. “The MLS would be something later in my career when I am thinking about the last couple of years or so.”
Since his record-breaking move from Spurs two summers ago, Kane has adjusted quickly to life in Germany, thriving in a system that amplifies his leadership and finishing instincts. Despite constant speculation about a Premier League return, particularly with Tottenham retaining first refusal on any future transfer, Kane has made it clear that he is content where he is.
Kane confirmed he has not yet begun formal contract talks with Bayern but is ready to do so when the moment feels right. “I spoke openly after one of the recent games a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation,” he said.
“Obviously it depends on how the next year or so goes, what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.”
It is an attitude that reflects both confidence and contentment. The former Spurs striker has found new purpose in Bavaria, combining consistency in front of goal with a broader influence on a team that continues to chase European dominance. Reports in Germany suggest he could trigger a clause next summer allowing him to leave for around £56.7 million, but his latest comments suggest that possibility is unlikely to materialise soon.

Any notion of a Tottenham reunion appears increasingly distant. When asked whether a Premier League return still appeals, Kane’s response carried both affection and detachment. “In terms of the Premier League, I don’t know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back,” he admitted.
“Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, not so much, but I wouldn’t say I would never go back. What I have learnt in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things fall in place.”
Kane’s evolution since leaving Spurs mirrors the maturity of a player who has conquered new challenges abroad. While Spurs boss Thomas Frank recently suggested he would welcome the striker back, the reality is that such a scenario may only arise much later in his career, if at all.
Kane’s happiness in Germany extends beyond football. “I am extremely happy there, my wife and kids are happy to stay and as you get older that’s a big part of any decision you make,” he said. “But, as always, you never know what is around the corner. I am not going to put my eggs in any basket. I am going to enjoy what I am doing and right now that is at Bayern Munich, definitely for this season and probably next season that is going to be the way.”

He was equally glowing about his manager and the club’s long-term ambitions. “I am calm, I love the manager at Bayern, I think he is fantastic and, as always in my career, as long as we are improving and I am improving, then I am happy to see what we can achieve,” he explained. “If there is going to be an extension it has to work for everyone and it has to have a clear vision on where we see the club.”
For now, it seems clear that Kane’s focus lies with Bayern’s pursuit of trophies rather than any nostalgia for the past. Tottenham fans may dream of a homecoming, but their former talisman appears entirely settled in the rhythm of life at the Allianz Arena. His silence on a Spurs return speaks volumes, replaced by a measured satisfaction and an openness to new milestones in Germany rather than old records in England.
