Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane discussed his incredible form, his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or, and past opportunities to move to Spain, in an interview with Spanish newspaper MARCA.
Kane said some moments almost made him move to LaLiga. “I wouldn’t say there were any clear opportunities, but there were some conversations in the past,” he stated.
Kane praised teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid, saying that these are the biggest clubs in the world. “As we know, anything can happen in football. I never rule anything out, but for now, as I’ve said before, I’m extremely happy in Germany,” he added.
When asked about the desire to win the Champions League with Bayern, Kane said: “ This Bayern team has the hunger we need as a group and as a team, and we also have the right coach.”
Regarding the Ballon d’Or, Kane stated that he doesn’t like to talk about himself, even though the English striker was happy with the season he had and the fact that he managed to score 73 goals.
“The Ballon d’Or isn’t in my hands. It depends on the people who vote. From my point of view, last season is already in the past. I’m now focused on this season and excited to see what more I can do. I know there will be a lot of talk about the Ballon d’Or until October, because it’s a major award,” Kane told Marca.
With stars like Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal openly discussing how much they deserve the award, Kane has so far distanced himself from the conversation. Even though he didn’t hide the fact that winning the award would mean a lot, and especially since it’s taking place in his hometown of London, Kane has put his focus more on his team and the current season.
