Harry Kane gave an interview to the Spanish outlet Marca, where he addressed several topics about his career - including the race for the Ballon d'Or.

In that conversation - published this Friday - the striker highlighted the impressive scoring record he set in 2025/26.

«I have never liked talking too much about myself. The only thing I would say is that last season was incredible, both personally and as a team. By far, it was the best season of my life. It is true that scoring 73 goals - the second-highest total in history [after Lionel Messi’s 82 goals in 69 appearances in 2011/12] - speaks for itself.», he began.

«I am extremely proud of it. I can only thank my teammates and everyone who helped make it possible. But the Ballon d’Or is not in my hands. It depends on the people who vote.»

Finally, Kane looked ahead to the Golden Boot award, comparing himself with two icons of world football: «Messi and Ronaldo [Cristiano] dominated football for an entire generation. They are two of the greatest players in history. Being part of that conversation is already something special.»
