FC Bayern Munich capped off their season in style on Saturday night with a convincing 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final, with Harry Kane describing the occasion as “a special way to end” an unforgettable campaign.

The England captain played a decisive role in Berlin, scoring the opening goal before Bayern added two more to secure the domestic cup and complete another successful season under the floodlights at the Olympiastadion.

Speaking after the final whistle, Kane admitted he had been eagerly anticipating the showpiece event for months.

“I was looking forward to this final so much, I've heard a lot about it from other players. Such a special game, such a great season and a special way to end it.”

Bayern were made to work hard early on by a spirited Stuttgart side, but Kane praised his team’s mentality and ability to grow into the contest.

“The atmosphere tonight was incredible and it was a tough game to start. But we are Bayern Munich and we always find a way. We always get stronger throughout a match and we showed our class tonight as well.”

Kane’s opener proved to be the breakthrough Bayern needed, with the striker later calling it the key moment of the match.

“My first goal was the turning point tonight. It's so important to score first. The second goal sealed the game for us. The third was just the cherry on top. Tonight we created moments I will remember for ever.”

Despite renewed speculation surrounding his long-term future in Munich, Kane insisted the focus remains on celebrating the triumph before turning his attention to international duty with England national football team ahead of the World Cup.

“Tonight is not the night to talk about my future, but I feel extremely comfortable here, I'm looking forward to the World Cup now and the celebrations tonight. We will discuss contracts and everything after that.”
