Bayern Munich top scorer Harry Kane will miss Friday’s Bundesliga trip to Borussia Mönchengladbach after a calf knock, head coach Vincent Kompany confirmed.

According to BuLi News, Kompany said Kane has not recovered in time and will join Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies on the sidelines.

The coach described it as only a knock and, for now, nothing serious, adding they might be a day short for him to be involved. He said the staff remain calm, while acknowledging they would have preferred to include their striker.

There was better news in goal, with Manuel Neuer recovered from injury and fit to start.

Kompany suggested Kane’s absence could allow others to step forward, with the squad eager to seize any opportunity.

Bayern will hope to have Kane available for Tuesday’s Champions League round of 16 first leg against Atalanta.
