Leeds United returned for pre-season testing today, with a first look at new signing Harry Wilson and injured midfielder Ilia Gruev back in the group, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.

Seven weeks after their final match of the 2025-26 season at West Ham, the majority of the squad arrived at Leeds Beckett University.

Those pictured checking in included captain Ethan Ampadu, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach, Joe Rodon, Jayden Bogle, Jaka Bijol, James Justin, Sean Longstaff, Dan James, Willy Gnonto, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Lucas Perri and Alex Cairns.

Wilson has joined on a free transfer after his Fulham contract expired, and the club’s social channels showed him alongside his new team-mates.

Gruev saw his season cut short by a meniscus knee injury, but he posted a recovery update late last month and was expected to be ready for pre-season.

As anticipated, World Cup quartet Brenden Aaronson, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Noah Okafor and Ao Tanaka were absent from the footage, and are due back at a later date.
