Aston Villa have signed Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton, completing their second deadline day deal.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 24-year-old, capped once by England, joins in a move worth around £30m and is the club’s 10th and likely final addition of the summer window.

He has been recruited to replace Ezri Konsa after the defender’s £55m transfer to Arsenal last month.

Villa considered several centre-backs, including Club Brugge’s Joel Ordonez. Southampton rejected two bids before an agreement was reached over the weekend.

Harwood-Bellis watched from the stands at Villa Park on Monday as his new side lost 1-0 to Arsenal.

His arrival followed winger Ibrahim Mbaye’s move from Paris Saint-Germain earlier on deadline day.

The additions push Villa’s potential spend for the window beyond £260m, though the club are still expected to record a net profit after recouping more than £300m in sales, including Morgan Rogers’ British record £117m switch to Chelsea.
