Rangers and Celtic drew 2-2 at Ibrox as Reo Hatate equalised in the first minute of second half stoppage time after a VAR-confirmed penalty, with Rangers remaining second and Celtic third in the Scottish Premiership.

Youssef Chermiti acrobatically opened the scoring in the eighth minute, meeting Andreas Skov Olsen's cross with an overhead finish. The striker then pounced on defensive errors to slide in a second (26.).

After the restart, Jack Butland parried Hatate's drive from range (55.). Moments later, Benjamin Nygren clipped in a cross for Kieran Tierney to head home (56.) for the Bhoys.

The Bhoys kept pressing and substitute Luke McCowan was denied one-on-one by Butland (78.).

In the closing stages, Dujon Sterling was penalised for handball after a monitor review. VAR confirmed the spot kick and Butland saved Hatate's penalty and immediate rebound, but the midfielder tapped in during the first minute of second half stoppage time.

Rangers registered 12 attempts and 45.2% possession. The Bhoys produced 17 attempts and 54.8% of the ball.

Next, Rangers host the Hoops in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. The Bhoys visit Aberdeen next.
