Hatem Ben Arfa docuseries ‘could air’ this year, says director | OneFootball

Speaking on the Aliotalk podcast, director Bruno Sevaistre said a docuseries centred on Hatem Ben Arfa is nearing release, adding it was not impossible the first episode would appear this year.

Sevaistre has filmed more than 14 years of Ben Arfa’s life between 2010 and 2024. He previously shot À la Clairefontaine, in which Ben Arfa was one of the central figures.

The former footballer, 39, won 15 France caps and represented Lyon, Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain.

He had earlier indicated that neither he nor Ben Arfa were fully convinced by an initial edit, but that stance has shifted after extensive reworking. He now says they are satisfied with the result.

The series is planned across eight episodes of 40 minutes. The platform is still to be confirmed, and while Sevaistre has an idea, it has not yet been decided.
