„He blows me away“: Pedri declares Musiala his Barça dream player | OneFootball

Barça star Pedri has openly admitted that he could imagine Jamal Musiala as a dream transfer for FC Barcelona. The Spaniard raves about the Bayern jewel.

If Pedri could only choose one player for FC Barcelona, his choice would be clear: Jamal Musiala. The 22-year-old recently revealed this in an interview with the YouTube channel xBuyer. For the Barça star, the German international is „a player who blows me away“.

No wonder: Musiala – just like Pedri – is one of the most valuable players of his generation. Both are 22 years old, both have been among the most influential U23 players in world soccer for years. Their current market value is 140 million euros each – only Jude Bellingham (180 million euros) and Lamine Yamal (200 million euros) are rated higher.

Musiala as a Barça dream

Musiala and Pedri currently share not only their status as exceptional talents, but also a less pleasant fate: both are currently injured and working on their comeback.

As much as Pedri dreams of a future together in Barcelona, the scenario is unrealistic. Musiala only extended his contract with FC Bayern until 2030 in February, enjoys absolute top status in Munich and is one of the strategic cornerstones for the coming years.

Although there are rumors about an exit clause, the facts speak for themselves: this is said to be a whopping 175 million euros and will only fall to 100 million euros in the summer of 2029 – sums that Barcelona, who are currently struggling economically, cannot even begin to afford.

Bayern was once interested in Pedri

It is interesting to note, however, that the reverse constellation almost happened once before. Pedri himself confirmed last summer: „It is true that Bayern were interested in me.“

Former Barça sporting director Ramon Planes recently revealed: „Two days after the 8-2 defeat to Bayern in 2020, I received a call from Pedri’s advisor saying that Bayern were interested in Pedri. There was even a video call.“

Although Barcelona had already signed the youngster at the time, he was still on loan to UD Las Palmas. Nevertheless, FC Bayern are said to have made serious attempts to bring the highly talented midfielder to Munich. However, a deal did not materialise – Pedri clearly opted for Barça.

And it is just as clear today: Musiala has opted for Bayern.
