Speaking at a press conference attended by Get French Football News Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe was wary of the threat posed by Marseille striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (36). “After watching Marseille in the build-up, we can say that he is as good as ever. He’s still stretching backlines, getting in-behind and is a lethal finisher as well,” said the coach of the Magpies. “He’s another player we’ll have to control, and we’ll be doing some work with our defenders to try and counter act him.” Aubameyang scored his 400th career goal in his previous Ligue 1 outing against OGC Nice at the weekend, marking his fifth goal of the season since re-signing for OM, adding to the 30 goals scored for the club during the 2023-2024 season. NUFC defender Malick Thiaw added “they are one of the most offensive teams now in Europe. All of these three players have a bit of quality and have big experience.”GFFN | George Boxall – reporting from the Stade Vélodrome, Marseille.
