Cristian Chivu guided Inter Milan to a late 2-1 win over Serie A minnows Hellas Verona in Sunday’s lopsided clash at the Bentegodi.
According to the Italian media via L’Interista, the 45-year-old showcased true class after the final whistle.
Inter Milan got away with a highway robbery at the Bentegodi as Martin Frese scored a scrappy own goal in the 92nd minute.
Meanwhile, Piotr Zielinski opened the scoring with a phenomenal volley in the 16th minute, scoring his first goal under Cristian Chivu.

Chivu admitted his side got lucky to take all three points against a resilient Verona side.
Indeed, the San Siro giants were not at their best by any stretch of the imagination.
Despite taking an early lead, Inter nearly headed into the halftime break with a deficit.
However, the woodwork denied Gift Orban’s first-time shot after Giovane leveled the score with a scintillating finish.
Yet, Inter emerged victorious, courtesy of an own goal, extending their unbeaten run against Verona to 30 matches.
