Hellberg hoping Middlesbrough forward will remain at club amid interest

Middlesbrough boss Kim Hellberg says he is “counting on” David Strelec remaining at the club despite speculation linking the striker with a move to PAOK.

Strelec has been the subject of continued transfer interest, but Hellberg insists he expects the Slovakia international to remain part of his squad.

“I see David here. I think David is a brilliant footballer, and I hope he is here,” Hellberg said.

“That is the only thing I am thinking about now. I haven’t heard anything about that [the PAOK speculation], although I have read about it and been questioned about it.

“I see David here, and I think he will be here. If something will happen, then something will happen, but I am counting on him being here.”
