Hemir is set to return to Sunderland this summer, with O Jogo reporting Moreirense have decided against activating a permanent option in his loan.
The forward joined from Benfica in summer 2023, making 24 senior appearances, then spent most of last season in Juventus’s B-team set-up. He moved to Moreirense on a season-long loan in the final week of the last window after first-team chances on Wearside remained limited. Former sporting director Kristjaan Speakman said the switch would provide the right environment for his next step.
He debuted in a 2-0 win at Arouca in November and scored his first goal, on his fourth outing, in a 3-3 draw with Estoril. His only other strike came in last month’s 1-1 draw with Nacional.
He was an unused substitute in the club’s past two league games and featured only late in a 4-1 defeat against Benfica last weekend.
A Bola previously reported he remained on the bench for a 3-0 loss at Porto due to what it described as ‘inappropriate behaviour’ before the match.
