The England international has been included in Andrée Jeglertz’s starting XI at the Joie Stadium as our defence of the WSL title gets under way.

Hemp is only the fourth player in our history to hit a double century of matches, following in the footsteps of Steph Houghton, Keira Walsh and Demi Stokes.

Joining the Club in May 2018 from Bristol City, the winger is one of the most recognisable and influential figures in our recent history and the WSL more broadly.

The longest serving member of our current squad, she’s won six major honours in her seven full seasons in Blue so far.

She’s found the net 74 times in that period, with only Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw scoring more in our professional era, while she’s also second in the all-time WSL assist charts, behind new team-mate Beth Mead.

Indeed, despite only turning 26 in August, Hemp’s impact on the WSL is astonishing.

She’s already created more open play chances than any other player in top flight history and has also figured in three WSL Team of the Year squads while also claiming a record four PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year awards.

Since making her WSL debut in April 2017 with Bristol City, she’s also completed more dribbles and produced more crosses than any other player in the division.

Lauren has certainly delivered on that early promise to become one of the world’s best wide players and was pivotal in our march to WSL and FA Cup glory last season, as well as in two European Championship-winning squads with England.

She’s sure to continue being an influential figure in any future success for Club and Country in the years to come.

Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Lauren on reaching 200 appearances for Manchester City!
