‘Here we go’ – Atlético Madrid’s first summer signing confirmed | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Monday closed a deal for the club’s first signing of the summer.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Robin Le Normand as the player in question.

Defender Le Normand has of course long taken his place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital.

As much comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 27-year-old has been identified as Atlético’s priority target with a view to next season.

The Rojiblancos are eager to add to their options at centre-back with at least one new body this summer, with Le Normand considered the ideal profile.

Negotiations, in turn, had long been kicked into gear between the brass at the Wanda Metropolitano, and their counterparts at Real Sociedad.

And, as alluded to above, on Monday, as much have borne fruit.

As per Fabrizio Romano:

‘Robin Le Normand to Atlético Madrid, here we go! Agreement in place also between clubs on deal worth €30m.’

With the Spanish international having long agreed on the terms of a contract with Atléti, the transfer can in turn be considered as a done deal.
