Hernán Crespo faces tension at São Paulo before Flamengo clash

São Paulo are not planning to dismiss head coach Hernán Crespo before Wednesday 28’s meeting with Flamengo in the Campeonato Brasileiro, though the atmosphere around him is tense.

ESPN reports that Crespo has irked figures at the club with comments on São Paulo’s internal politics, and some directors see tactical shortcomings in recent performances.

Even so, the current board, led by new president Harry Massis, intend to keep him in place for the upcoming fixtures.

The match on Wednesday will be played at Morumbis, unlike their 2025 league meeting that finished 2-2 at Vila Belmiro.
