Hertha Berlin extend Kevin-Prince Boateng contract, Eduard Löwen is set to leave | OneFootball

Kevin-Prince Boateng will have his contract extended at Hertha Berlin while Eduard Löwen is free to negotiate with other clubs, according to Kicker.

Boateng was credited for his leadership role both on and off the pitch.

The 35-year-old midfielder played 18 times in the Bundesliga for the old lady last season and also played a crucial role in their play-off relegation survival.

Hertha’s sporting director Fredi Bobic confirmed during a press conference on Monday: “The talks were good, now a few contractual things have to be clarified, then we will be able to announce it.”

New coach Sandro Schwarz also had a part to play in Boateng’s extension as he explained: “We had an intensive and honest conversation. That’s why I came to Berlin two weeks ago. I wanted to hear from him personally how last season was, what he wants, how he sees his future.”

The same can not be said for Eduard Löwen, however.

Löwen is under contract until 2024 but is clearly not in Schwarz’s plans going forward. It’s unsure which clubs Löwen is currently talking to.
