Hervé Renard to leave Tunisia job after World Cup group-stage exit

According to L'Équipe, Hervé Renard has told Tunisian officials he will not continue as national team head coach, despite their wish to keep him.

Renard replaced Sabri Lamouchi during the World Cup after Tunisia opened with a 1-5 defeat to Sweden. He inherited a side in clear difficulty.

Under his watch, the Eagles of Carthage lost 0-4 to Japan, then 1-3 to the Netherlands, their best display at this tournament.

Tunisia were eliminated in the group stage.

This was Renard’s third consecutive World Cup.
