Enzo Maresca named Estevao in the starting line-up much to the delight of Chelsea fans, and he sprung a surprise with Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto also in the team.

The decision paid off as Chelsea put the Spanish champions to the sword, and improved their chances of securing a top eight finish and an automatic path to the last 16.

All the talk pre-game was about Estevao and Lamine Yamal, arguably the two best teenagers in world football, but come full time the talk was only about the Brazilian.

Thierry Henry likened Estevao to Ryan Giggs, and Delap believes his team-mate is special and has the world at his feet.

“Incredible, he’s such a special player,” he told Hayters TV.

“He’s got to keep working hard and he can be whatever he wants. He’s so young but so exciting. He’s so raw and he’s got the world at his feet at the moment.

“He’s just got to stay grounded and he’ll do everything.”
