‘He’s incredible’ – Chelsea boss Maresca hails Barcelona star ahead of UCL clash | OneFootball

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has made clear his appreciation for the talents of Barcelona star Pedri, on the eve of the upcoming meeting between the two clubs.

Barcelona are of course primed to make the trip to west London on Tuesday evening.

This comes ahead of a highly-anticipated Champions League clash with reigning Club World Cup holders Chelsea.

Midfielder Pedri, for his part, is set to miss the fixture, not called upon by Hansi Flick to make the trip to Stamford Bridge amid his ongoing efforts to recover from a muscular injury.

And of the opinion that football as a whole ‘loses’ as a result is the aforementioned Enzo Maresca.

Drawn on the impending absence of Pedri for Tuesday during his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Chelsea’s headmaster revealed his take that:

“Without Pedri, it’s not only Barcelona that loses [quality], football loses. Because of his quality and the kind of player he is. He’s incredible.”
