In a significant coup for Chelsea's rebuilding project, the club has secured the services of promising talent Alejandro Garnacho, who is now preparing for his potential debut under new manager Enzo Maresca. The Blues' head coach provided his first assessment of the young winger during a recent press conference, tempering expectations while acknowledging the player's commitment.
Maresca emphasized that Garnacho faces a period of intense preparation after arriving without optimal match fitness. "The reality is Alejandro needs to work—and he is working well," stated the Italian tactician. "He didn't arrive here fully ready, so there's an adjustment period. Hopefully we can integrate him gradually and offer him some minutes as he builds toward full match sharpness."
In less positive news for Chelsea supporters, Maresca simultaneously confirmed a significant setback for another young attacker. 22-year-old forward Liam Delap has sustained a serious injury that will require an extended rehabilitation period of 10-12 weeks, dealing a blow to the club's attacking options heading into the new campaign.
