According to Stephen McGowan in The Herald, the Hoops retain an interest in the 22-year-old defensive midfielder after seeing a bid rejected by the Easter Road club during the January transfer window.
Chaiwa is now attracting attention from across Europe, with clubs believed to have indicated they would be prepared to pay around £3million for the Zambia international.
That figure, however, falls short of Hibs’ valuation, with the Edinburgh club demanding in excess of £4million before considering a sale.
Celtic could yet return for Chaiwa should their pursuit of Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis fail to progress.
Interest from mainland Europe has so far failed to develop into serious negotiations with Hibs, who are under little pressure to cash in on the midfielder.
Chaiwa, signed from Swiss side Young Boys, remains under contract at Easter Road until May 2028 and could stay for another season unless an interested club meets the valuation set by Hibs’ owners.
The Leith side have already shown they are prepared to hold out for significant fees for their leading players, having received a club-record £6.5million from Hellas Verona for Kieron Bowie in January.
