TSG Hoffenheim are said to be ahead in the race to sign VfL Wolfsburg’s Patrick Wimmer.
Sky Germany reports that talks have already been held and there is optimism an agreement can be reached.
Eintracht Frankfurt and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been linked with the winger.
Following Wolfsburg’s relegation, Wimmer is believed to be available for €10 million due to a clause in his contract.
A departure appears likely, and he has previously expressed a desire to take the next step in his career.
The 25-year-old is part of Austria’s squad for the World Cup.
